DIGITALISATION
Digitalisation is a key pillar of our strategy to improve efficiency, guest service and sustainability at Camping du Nord. We don’t simply digitise for convenience – we redesign processes to create a smarter, cleaner and more responsive campsite.

1. Camping App – a digital service hub
Our Camping App is the core of the guest experience. It allows users to pre-order fresh bread, Thai meals, pizzas, and view activities and local tips. The app reduces queueing and miscommunication while enabling guests to plan their stay more efficiently. It also facilitates internal planning (e.g., bread quantities, food prep, waste reduction).

2. Reception kiosk for self-service
For guests without smartphones or who prefer physical interaction, we offer a digital self-service kiosk at reception (similar to those used in fast food chains). Here, guests can place food orders and view site information in a user-friendly way, reducing staff pressure during busy check-in hours.

3. Smart energy control and billing with ICY
We use ICY to manage the electricity and heating systems across all accommodations and pitches. This system allows us to:

Remotely monitor and activate electricity or heating per unit

Read and record consumption data

Dynamically adjust amp limits (e.g., from 6A to 8A or 10A depending on guest needs)
Guests who choose or require more power pay a higher rate – following the “polluter pays” principle, which incentivises mindful energy use and enables us to offer fair pricing.

4. Digitally supported infrastructure
In 2024, we launched a new website with full mobile optimisation, improved accessibility and dynamic multilingual content. This was developed with support from the Luxembourg Chamber of Commerce (Package of Digitalisation) and improves the booking experience and visibility for international guests.

5. From paper to platform
We are phasing out traditional paper-based communication (maps, info folders) in favour of interactive digital content. All relevant information is available in the app – from arrival instructions to hiking tips – creating a centralised, up-to-date and eco-friendly guest experience.

Camping du Nord uses digital tools not as gadgets, but as strategic instruments to optimise operations, empower guests, and reduce our ecological footprint.
